Visit reconstructed mountain village Iyashi no Sato Nenba, Shiraito Falls. Travel to Nagoya, visit the Toyota Museum. Continue to Kyoto. Overnight stay.
Full day in Kyoto visiting Arashiyama (Togetsukyo Bridge, Tenryu-ji Temple, bamboo forest), Imperial Palace, Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), Fushimi Inari Shrine, and Gion district. Free time included.
Travel to Tsumago, a well-preserved rural village. Lunch included. Visit Matsumoto Castle, free time for sightseeing. Overnight in Nagano.
Visit Zenko-ji Temple with Gomakuyo ceremony. Visit Jigokudani Monkey Park (snow monkeys). Travel to Kusatsu, enjoy Yumomi traditional performance and outdoor onsen. Continue to Ikaho, stroll through the historic district. Stay in Ryokan with a traditional dinner.
Visit Nikko’s Toshogu Shrine and Taiyuinbyo Mausoleum. Walk Kanmangafuchi gorge lined with Jizo statues. Free time in Nikko before returning to Tokyo (~18:30 arrival).
