Start your day with a delicious breakfast and embark on a city tour. Visit the iconic Forbidden City, the sprawling imperial palace complex that was home to 24 emperors. Explore the tranquil Jingshan Park, offering panoramic views of the Forbidden City. Stroll through Tiananmen Square, one of the largest squares in the world, and admire the Great National Theatre and Beijing Opera House. Later, we’ll visit the Summer Palace, a serene retreat with beautiful gardens and lakes. In the afternoon, experience a traditional tricycle ride through Beijing’s Hutong district, where you can observe local life and visit a Siheyuan (traditional courtyard house). Today, we’ll venture out to the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China. We’ll take a scenic cable car ride up and down the Mutianyu section of the Wall, one of the best-preserved areas. On our return to Beijing, visit the 798 Art District, home to contemporary art galleries housed in former military factories. We’ll also stop by the Temple of Heaven, a UNESCO World Heritage site, before indulging in a relaxing foot massage and Tai Chi class. Later, enjoy a traditional Peking duck dinner to round off your Beijing adventure. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Seoul. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and meet your guide. In the late afternoon, take the metro (we’ll guide you on how to use the public transport system) to City Hall to see the Tsunami-shaped building and Deoksugung Palace, which blends tradition and modernity. Finish the day in Myeongdong, the bustling shopping district of Seoul. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Today’s city tour lasts five hours, beginning with a visit to Changdeokgung Palace, a World Heritage site. Explore the Bukchon Hanok Village, a traditional neighborhood with well-preserved Korean houses. Next, visit the War Memorial of Korea, a museum detailing the country’s military history, particularly the Korean War. We’ll continue to the Gangnam District, renowned for its shopping and entertainment. In the evening, visit the Lotte World Tower, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city (optional). Our first stop today is the Gyeongbokgung Palace, a 600-year-old historic site where you may witness the Changing of the Guard ceremony. Today, I traveled through stunning mountain landscapes to Haeinsa, home to the Tripitaka, the world’s most complete collection of Buddhist texts. We’ll then head to Daegu to visit the Oriental Medicine Market and the Museum of Oriental Medicine. Finally, we’ll arrive in Busan, Korea’s second-largest city, where you’ll have free time to explore the vibrant Doosan Haeundae complex. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Start the day in Busan with a visit to Haedong Yonggung, a 14th-century Buddhist temple by the sea. Later, we’ll visit the United Nations Memorial Cemetery and the bustling Jagalchi Fish Market. In the evening, board a ferry to Shimonoseki, Japan. Depending on ferry schedules, enjoy a relaxing cruise or take a fast ferry with a brief stop in Fukuoka. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Arriving in Shimonoseki, we’ll travel to Iwakuni to see the historic Kintai-Kyo Bridge. Next, we’ll visit Miyajima, the sacred island home to the Itsukushima Shrine. Then, continue to Hiroshima, where we’ll visit the Peace Memorial Park, Atomic Bomb Dome, and the Peace Memorial Museum, reflecting on the city’s tragic past. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast, we’ll embark on a ferry ride to Shikoku Island, enjoying a scenic two-hour crossing. In Matsuyama, visit Matsuyama Castle via a cable car ride and the beautiful Ishiteji Buddhist temple. In the afternoon, relax at Dogo Onsen, a historic bathhouse with a charming atmosphere. Today, we’ll visit Kotohira, a sacred shrine on Mount Zosu, which can be reached by climbing 785 steps. Next, head to Takamatsu to explore the stunning Ritsurin Garden. In Naruto, walk across a spectacular bridge with a glass floor overlooking the sea. Arrive in Kobe and check in to your hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
In the morning, visit the Earthquake Memorial Museum in Kobe to learn about the 1995 Great Hanshin earthquake and the city’s remarkable recovery. Next, head to Osaka, then venture to Mount Koya, a UNESCO World Heritage site and center of Shingon Buddhism. We’ll visit Okuno Mausoleum and Kongobuji Temple before spending the night at a Buddhist monastery. Experience Zen meditation and an optional early morning religious ceremony. After breakfast at the temple, depart for Kyoto, the former imperial capital of Japan. Here, visit the famous Fushimi Inari Shrine, the Imperial Palace, and the iconic Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion). Take the bullet train from Kyoto to Tokyo, traveling 500 kilometers in just over two hours. In the afternoon, explore Shinjuku, a lively district known for its nightlife, and witness the city’s modern metro system. Return to your hotel for an overnight stay. Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Embark on a five-hour city tour of Tokyo, visiting historic temples like Zojoji and Sensoji. See the busy Shibuya crossing, Meiji Shrine, and the elegant Omotesando district.
