After check-in, have time to relax and rest after your international flight. The rest of the day will be kept off so as to allow you to acclimatize to the new time zone. You can take a leisurely stroll in the streets of the neighbourhood, take Georgian wine in a small cafe, or just relax in the hotel. Finish breakfast and the guided city tour will start to explore the centre of Tbilisi. Explore the beautiful Old Town with its wooden balconies, lanes, and coloured houses. Narikala Fortress is a place to visit and enjoy a panorama of the city and the Mtkvari River. Visit the renowned sulfur bath quarter of Abanotubani and its history. The tour goes on to Sioni Cathedral and Anchiskhati Basilica where Christian culture of Georgia has strong roots. Then cross the modern Bridge of Peace, which is a representation of the contemporary side of Tbilisi. Today it is the turn of Mtskheta, the ancient capital and spiritual centre of Georgia. Visit the hill top Jvari Monastery which has great scenery of a combination of two rivers. Next to Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, this is one of the most important places in Georgia and a UNESCO World Heritage. Explore early Christian history and architectural genius of the country. Get back to Tbilisi in the afternoon after visiting the cobbled streets and souvenir shops in Mtskheta. The night is leisure and it is the right moment to go shopping, go cafe shopping or have a traditional Georgian dinner with folk music which can be a perfect completion of a day full of culture and history. Leave Tbilisi and head to the Caucasus Mountains via the spectacular Georgian Military Highway. Along the way visit the picturesque Zhinvali Reservoir and see the ancient Ananuri Fortress which commands a view of the blue waters. Driving up into the mountains, you will have spectacular sceneries, alpine pastures, and rainbow valleys. Arrive at Kazbegi (Stepantsminda) and stay in your hotel that is circled by high mountains. The rest of the day is spent in relaxation or taking short walks in the fresh mountain air.
